Yolanda Santa, 56, of Ridgewood, New York in Queens has been charged with felony larceny in connection with the Oct. 18, robbery of Campus Jewelers at 5 River Road, said Lt. Robert Kluk.
During the robbery, the three females then distracted the two salespeople while the man stole jewelry from the behind the counter and put it in a brown paper shopping bag he was carrying, Kluk said.
The suspects then purchased an item with cash and left the store with more than $21,000 in stolen jewelry, he added.
After a lengthy investigation with the assistance of the NYPD, Nassau County Sheriff’s Department, and the FBI, the department was able to identify the subjects responsible and arrest warrants have been obtained for all four, Kluk said.
On Jan. 19, Santa was arrested at her Ridgewood, N.Y., as being a fugitive from justice on a warrant for her involvement in the robbery. She waived extradition and was turned over to Wilton police.
Santa is being held on $100,000. She is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
